Sander on the PCT

Day 119: Goat Rocks wilderness

27.1 miles (43.6km)

22 Aug 2018

In Trout Lake we got some update on the forest fires in Washington. Sadly there is a closure from Harts Pass - 30 miles before Canada - to the Canadian border due to a fire right on the trail. There is another closure just before, on the way to Stehekin and a third one going into White Pass. Hopefully an alternate route becomes available within the next two weeks. Hiking 2600 miles across the US and not being able to finish at the Canadian border or pct endpoint would be a major bummer. Really major. Also poses a logistic problem as I'm not allowed to enter Canada on any trail other than the pct.

As for today, fairly generic. Highlight were the hotdogs with fresh tomatoes and mustard I packed out.
